Reading practice: Spanish unemployment claims rise in August, snapping 4-month run of declines.



  • MADRID - Spain's Labor Ministry says the number of people filing claims for unemployment benefits rose by 51,185 in August, ending a four-month run of declines in the country's jobless ranks.
  • The increase reported Friay marked a 1.25 per cent rise over July and left the total number filing for benefits at 4,130,927.
