  • Carlo says he's sick of the way Yankees invade other countries whenever they like instead of trying to solve problems through the United Nations.
  • Barry's from Canada, so whatever you do don't call him a Yank. He really hates that.
Note: this word is not polite and you can easily upset Americans by calling them Yankees or Yanks

Origin: The original meaning was someone who lived in one of the the north-eastern states of the U.S.A., or who fought as a Union soldier against the Confederates from the southern states in the American Civil War.
