Once upon a time in a far away land - Just show me the dress! Yes, Prince William and Kate Middleton have finally wed. The world waited months to get the first glimpse of the bride’s gown- wondering what color it’d be, who inspired the look, who designed it and, above all -- would it be fit for a princess?
“This was an unlikely choice at the very beginning, when we first heard about it we thought, you know, a lot of people thought she would go with something more traditional.”
“It’s a very cinched-in waist. It’s scalloped lace all on a v-neck down to her, you know, her chest and her waist is absolutely tiny, so it’s completely gorgeous in there when you see how the skirt billows out just like Grace Kelly’s.” (EOnline)
Creative Director for British Fashion House Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton, is responsible for the lace and silk ivory creation - and while the train of the dress was shorter than many expected, fashion mavens call it “modest and perfectly proportionate.”

Royal watchers say Middleton wanted her dress to capture both tradition and modernity. The Daily Mail says keeping the designer’s identity under wraps was the, quote--”best kept secret in fashion history.”
Dress fanatics and bride admirers also got an unexpected treat with sister Pippa Middleton’s dress, also a Burton design.
The Stir named Pippa "second-best dressed" at the ceremony, and the Ladies at The View dare to wonder, if the maid of honor stole a bit of the bride’s shine.
“Since when does the bridesmaid or the maid of honor wear white? I’ve never heard of such a thing. You’re not supposed to compete with Bride.”(ABC)
And The National Post quotes fashion designer Lucian Matis [LU-CHEN MA-TEES] who says...

“She was very smart in her choice and very political. Political was the first world that came to my mind when I first saw her. She didn’t splurge, she showed she is actually marrying William for love.”
Prince William was also a fan of the gown -- according to reports he whispered, “You look beautiful,” to his bride when she reach the altar. After the ceremony, the royal couple shared their first public kiss as husband and wife - marking the beginning of their happily ever after.
