Meaning: a great experience, a very enjoyable time
For example:
·                           You should have come to Neil's birthday party. It was a blast!
·                           The Sydney Gay Mardi Gras was such a blast that we're going again next year, for sure. 
Variety: This slang is typically used in American English but may be used in other varieties of English too.
