How To Play The Piano
For the first part of this Blues riff, the Left hand is playing a C major, with the 5th finger on the C, the 3rd finger on the E and the Thumb on the G. Remember, that the C key is always the first white key to the Left of any of the groups of two black keys anyway on the piano. At the same time that the left hand is playing the C major chord, the Right hand is playing what's know as an Arpeggio. The thumb will play on the C, the 2nd finger is on the E, the 3rd finger is on the G, the 4th finger is on the A and the 5th finger is on the B Flat. Once you've played through this sequence of notes simply come back down the keyboard to complete the first part of this riff.
For the second part of this riff, the Left hand is playing an F chord. This is done by placing the 5th finger on the F key, the 3rd finger on the A and the Thumb on the C. Remember that the F is always the white key to the left of the group of 3 black keys anywhere on the keyboard. Meanwhile, the Right hand is playing an Arpeggio starting with the thumb on the F key, the 2nd finger on the A, the 3rd finger on the C, the 4th finger on the D and the 5th finger on the E flat. Just the same as before, once this sequence has been completed simply play it in reverse so that the keys being struck will go - F, A, C, D, E, D, C, A, F.
To finish the whole riff the Left hand will be playing the same C chord as in Part 1, whilst the Right hand plays the C key two octaves further up the keyboard.
